Lightly rub the steaks with olive oil. Season generously with salt and black pepper. If desired, add garlic powder.
3. Preheat the air fryer

4. Cook the steaks
Place the steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- 8 minutes:Â Medium-rare
- 9 minutes:Â Medium
- 10 minutes:Â Medium-well
Cooking times can vary depending on the thickness of the steaks and your air fryer.
5. Add butter
As soon as the steaks come out of the air fryer, place a pat of butter on top of each steak and let it melt over the surface.
6. Rest the steaks
Let the steaks rest for 5 minutes before slicing. This helps keep the meat juicy and tender.

- Thicker steaks may require an additional 1–2 minutes of cooking.
- For extra flavor, use garlic butter or add a pinch of fresh herbs such as rosemary or thyme.
- For the most accurate doneness, always use a meat thermometer.
