Lasagna rolls

Ingredients:
For the Rolls:
12 lasagna noodles, cooked al dente
2 cups ricotta cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg
2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley or basil (optional, for garnish)
Optional Fillings:
1 cup cooked spinach, squeezed to remove excess liquid
1 cup cooked ground beef, sausage, or shredded chicken
preparation:

  1. Prepare the Filling:
    In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, garlic powder, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
    If using spinach or meat, stir it into the cheese mixture.
  2. Assemble the Rolls:
    Lay the cooked lasagna noodles flat on a clean surface.
    Spread about 2-3 tablespoons of the cheese mixture evenly over each noodle.
    Roll up the noodles tightly and place them seam-side down in a greased baking dish.
  3. Add the Sauce and Cheese:
    Pour marinara sauce over the rolls, covering them completely.
    Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
  4. Bake:

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

  1. Garnish and Serve:
    Sprinkle with fresh parsley or basil before serving.
    Pair with garlic bread and a green salad for a complete meal.
    Tips
    Make Ahead: Assemble the rolls in advance and refrigerate until ready to bake.
    Freezer-Friendly: Freeze unbaked rolls for up to 2 months. Bake straight from frozen, adding an extra 10-15 minutes to the cooking time.
