Creamy Crab and Shrimp Puff Pastry Bit

Creamy Crab and Shrimp Puff Pastry BitesFlaky pastry wraps a warm seafood filling of crab, shrimp, cream cheese, and savory seasoning. They bake into golden little pockets with a creamy center and a delicate coastal aroma:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 oz lump crab meat
  • 8 oz cooked shrimp, chopped
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 green onions, finely sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

How to Make It:

  1. Fold the Seafood Filling
Incorporate the crab, chopped shrimp, cream cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan, green onions, garlic, Old Bay, paprika, salt, and black pepper in a bowl. Mix gently so the seafood stays tender while the filling becomes creamy.
  2. Shape the Pastry Pieces
Roll the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut it into even squares or rounds, keeping the pieces large enough to hold a generous spoonful of filling.
  3. Fill and Seal
Place the seafood mixture in the center of each pastry piece. Fold the pastry over, press the edges closed, and crimp with a fork for a neat sealed edge.
  4. Bake Until Crisp
Brush the tops with beaten egg and arrange the pastries on a lined baking sheet. Finish in a 400°F oven for 18 to 22 minutes, until puffed, golden, and crisp.
  5. Add a Fresh Finish
Let the pastries rest briefly so the creamy filling settles. Sprinkle with parsley and serve warm.
