Ooey Gooey Butter Cake

Ingredients:

For the crust:

  • 1 box of yellow cake mix
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted

For the filling:

  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 box (16 oz) powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the crust: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. In a medium bowl, mix the cake mix, egg, and melted butter until combined. Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared dish to form the crust.
  2. Make the filling: In another bowl, beat together the cream cheese, eggs, vanilla, powdered sugar, and melted butter until smooth. Pour this mixture over the crust.
  3. Bake: Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the center is set but still slightly gooey. The edges should be golden brown. Don’t overbake as the gooey texture is key!
  4. Cool and serve: Allow the cake to cool completely before slicing. Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.

This cake has a rich, gooey filling and a soft, buttery crust—perfect for a sweet treat! Let me know if you need anything else for your recipe collection!
